Tips for optimizing your searches

You do not have to enter a dog's full name: a partial name is enough. However, a search for belle will necessarily be less precise than a search for belle du beau chien, so you may need to sort through more results.

You can search for a dog either by its name or by its affix, but not by its studbook registration number or by its breeder.

If a search returns no results, check the spelling and, if in doubt, try a different spelling. Pay particular attention to the presence or absence of hyphens.

We have tried to reproduce the exact spelling shown on the dogs' pedigrees, but human error is always possible. Please let us know if you find an error.

You do not have to enter the full kennel or breeder name: a partial name is enough.

To search for a kennel by its name, select "Kennel name". To search by the breeder's name, select "Breeder name".

When searching for a kennel name, enter the affix as it is actually used, rather than the name by which the kennel is commonly known.
For example, enter "du joli bois" rather than "le joli bois".
If you are unsure about the beginning of the affix, leave it out: in the previous example, you could simply search for "joli bois".
